Musis - Advanced Spectral Imaging Solutions

The Technology

Whenever non-contact, scientific and technical analysis of spatially heterogeneous objects is required, Spectral Imaging is your first choice as today's most powerful analytical technology.

MuSIS spectral cameras, developed and produced by Forth-Photonics, combine high-definition imaging with high-resolution spectroscopy in a user-friendly, portable work station.

A series of narrow-band images are automatically captured across the visible and the non-visible parts of the optical spectrum (infrared, ultraviolet) and a full spectrum per image pixel can be calculated and displayed.

Materials composing the object under analysis are identified and mapped on the basis of spectral analysis and spectral image segmentation.

Important structural and compositional characteristics, invisible by conventional color imaging devices, are revealed with real-time, narrow-band imaging within the visible and non-visible parts of the spectrum.

Combining
high level integration and automation with flexibility and adaptability

Multimodal operation

MuSIS cameras can be configured to perform a series of imaging modes for improved documentation and for maximizing the diagnostic information. Indicative imaging modes include:

  • Imaging Spectroscopy and Spectrometry
(in Reflectance, Transmittance and Fluorescence modes)
  • Color Imaging and Imaging Colorimetry
  • False-Color Infrared Imaging
  • Multi-band Infrared Imaging

Modular design

MuSIS cameras are based on a modular design allowing for the integration of a variety of imaging sensors and image resolutions. The imaging sensors are optically coupled with imaging monochromators with standard and custom spectral resolution and range.

MuSIS cameras can be adapted to almost any type of imaging lens, transmission or reflectance microscopes, telescopes etc, thus setting no limits to the range of addressable applications.

Custom Solutions

MuSIS cameras can be configured to address the special needs of particular applications. The MuSIS R&D team has long-term experience in developing both technology and applications.

From macro to micro, Spectral Imaging finds a plethora of applications in remote sensing and non-destructive analysis, ranging from space to cell scientific imaging and analysis.

A long list of custom solutions have been developed by Forth-Photonics and installed in prestigious academic and industrial institutions world-wide, with applications in:

Dermatology,
Microscopy,
Forensics,
Plant Pathology,
Artwork and
Manuscript
Analysis etc.
